The Beta Tau Alumni Association is a nonprofit organization focused on engaging and employing the Beta Tau Alumni network resources in a collective effort to make an impact in four critical areas:
This is a tremendous opportunity for the brothers of Beta Tau to make a meaningful contribution back to the chapter and university to provide the next generation of young men the meaningful experiences and support that helped successfully launch many of our personal and professional careers.
The Beta Tau Alumni Association (BTAA) is open to any member of Alpha Phi Alpha who was initiated in the Beta Tau Chapter or attended Xavier University of Louisiana for more than one semester. Undergraduate members of Alpha Phi Alpha are ineligible to join the BTAA. Beta Tau affiliated members of Alpha Phi Alpha who did not receive a degree are eligible to join the BTAA at age 21.
Payment of annual membership dues to Beta Tau Alumni Association, which is a charitable organization under IRS 501(C)3, may be deductible as a charitable contribution to the extent such payment exceeds the monetary value of the benefits and privileges available by reason of such payment (“Annual Benefits Value”). Annually the organization will determine the Annual Benefits Value provided to the membership and communicate to the members this amount that is not considered tax deductible. Any membership dues paid in excess of the Annual Benefits Value, will be considered tax deductible. For example, if there are several classes of memberships available, and each class of membership receives the same benefits, the additional cost of the more expensive membership will qualify as a charitable contribution.
